Ministry

Pastor Bob Case with wife, Karen Case
Pastor
Bob grew up in Santa Ana, California with his parents, sisters and brother where
they attended First Christian Church. Bob
and his family were an active part of the church until his graduation from Santa
Ana High School in 1969. In 1969 he
began his college education at Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon
until his graduation in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree with a major in
ministry. During his time at
Northwest Christian College Pastor Bob met his future wife Karen.
They were married after his graduation in June, 1973.
After graduation Bob and Karen moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where Bob began
seminary at Brite Divinity School, a part if Texas Christian University.
While at Brite Bob served as Youth Pastor at Ridglea Christian Church,
and then became the student pastor of a small church in Woodson, Texas where Bob
and Karen traveled each weekend. At
the end of three years Bob graduated with a Master of Divinity from Texas
Christian University. Upon his
graduation he was ordained into the ministry in Woodson, Texas in August, 1976.
After his ordination and graduation Bob and Karen were called to Sikeston, Missouri where Bob served as Associate Pastor at First Christian Church. While in Sikeston Bob and Karen’s first son Sean was born. In 1979 Bob was called to Disciple Christian Church in Newcastle, Oklahoma as its pastor. He began his first full time ministry as pastor to a small church in rural Oklahoma outside of Oklahoma City. While at Newcastle Bob and Karen’s daughter Melissa was born. At this time Bob continued his education working towards his Doctor of Ministry which he received in 1984 from Phillips University. In 1983 Bob and Karen were called to Kelley Avenue Christian Church in Oklahoma City an inner city church where Bob served as Pastor for six years. While in Oklahoma City Bob and Karen’s youngest Son Nicholas was born. After six years Bob felt called to move back to his roots in Santa Ana, California where his parents resided. He began working in the printing business with his father and attending First Christian Church in Orange, California. During this period Bob and Karen experienced the secular world and business with all of its challenges. With his new experience in the business world, Bob in 1992 again felt the call of the ministry and became the pastor of a small church in Oceanside, California. Bob served this church for 12 years working with inner city children in a “Kid’s Church Program,” working with older adults, as well as substitute teaching in the local school district. During their time in Oceanside Karen worked with the local Head Start program as a teacher working with low income children and families.
After 12 wonderful years in Oceanside and the children grown, Bob and Karen decided it was time to “downsize” and moved on to Tucson, Arizona. Although Bob had thought he was going to semi-retire, God had other plans for him. Soon after moving to Tucson Bob received a call from George Tohlman asking him to do some preaching for him while he was on vacation. This led to Bob becoming the interim pastor at Capilla del Sol Christian Church. After serving as Capilla del Sol’s interim pastor, Bob was called as pastor in a team ministry with Karen. Karen and Bob began their new exciting ministry at Capilla del Sol Christian Church in September, 2007.
